Why care at home with some delegated nursing tasks is important
People with a long term care (LTC) often want to live at home and avoid a nursing home. We recognise that LTC’s affect people differently, and not turn the person’s home into a clinical setting to keep things ‘normalised’. It is important that care is adapted to suit the needs of the individual. Here are some examples of the LTC’s we support:
- Dementia: Advanced Alzheimer's, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and Lewy Body dementia (LBD or DLB)
- Neuromuscular conditions; Parkinson’s, Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington’s Disease, Dystonia
- Auto-immune conditions; Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus
- Brain Injury; Stroke, Locked-In Syndrome, Brain Tumour, Encephalitis, Aneurysm, Epilepsy
- Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome
- Mental Health Conditions, including Somatoform, Anxiety, Depression
- Palliative/End of Life Care
- Learning Disabilities, Autism, Asperger’s
- Spinal injuries
